Busy season still continues to traumatize small firms across the country.

There's never enough people, automations, or budget to leverage — so you just grind it out.

01

High-volume compliance with low margins

T1 season runs on thin per-return economics. The math only works if you push through hundreds of files — and you eat every minute that should have been automated.

02

Touching files multiple times from Jan to Apr

Every return gets opened, set down, chased on, reopened. Missing slips, late corrections, follow-up questions — the same file lives on your desk for weeks.

03

Client emails that eat your evenings

"Did you get my T5?" "Where do I send the slip?" "Is my return done yet?" Multiply by 200 clients.

An AI agent that does the boring 90%, so you do the strategic 10% review.

It's possible to go from 3 hours to 15 minutes for a sole proprietor.

1

Penny's intake agent collects client documents

Penny reaches out, chases missing slips, and ingests PDFs, images, and email attachments — without you sending a single follow-up.

2

Penny prepares the return

Extracts every slip, reconciles carry-forwards, drafts the T1, and flags anything ambiguous for review.

3

You review, Penny files

You review and Penny's post-review agent gets the return signed, filed, and organized.

A note from the founder

Agentic AI has only become reliable enough for production tax workflows in the last twelve months. We've spent that window building Penny carefully — mapping the regulatory ground, learning the workflow firms actually run, and shipping something we'd stake our own reputation on. The waitlist is how we make sure every firm we onboard gets it right.

— Junaid, CPA · Co-Founder · Toronto

The straight answers.

Is this like BlueJ or TaxGPT?

No — Penny is so much more than that. We're an end-to-end AI tax preparer. From client intake, research, preparation, and review, all the way to filing — with high accuracy and industry-grade security.

Can I trust AI?

CPAs rate their trust in AI at 4/10 — quite low. But Penny is a platform built by CPAs who understand the extreme importance of security, client confidentiality, and accuracy. Those are the core values that drive our company.

Why a waitlist? Why can't I just sign up?

Because rushed onboarding kills tax-software rollouts. Each firm we bring on gets real onboarding time, training for the team, and a direct line to the founder during your first season. Doing that well at scale means doing it in waves.

Where does our client data live?

Each firm gets a fully isolated environment. No data is ever shared across firms, and nothing is used to train shared models. We treat CPA Ontario Rule 208 (confidentiality) as a hard architectural constraint, not a footnote.

Who's behind this?

Penny is built in Toronto by a small team with deep context across Canadian accounting (CPA Ontario regulations, professional workflows) and applied AI.
